Leading the Way
Chris Cox is the Owner and Chief Learning Officer of Amplitude, a company focused on amplifying the results of leaders and teams. She and the Amplitude team provide high-impact training, facilitation and coaching services to some of the nation’s best and brightest companies and teams.
Chris is also the Vice President of Training and Development for Emergenetics International and one of two Emergenetics Master Trainers. As such, she is responsible for the certification of new associates and delivers advanced training to over 400 associates.
A partial client industry listing includes small to large, for-profit industries of healthcare, gaming, technology, marketing and advertising, hotel management, publishing, construction, architectural design, and transportation. Not-for-profit industries include education (K-12 to post graduate college level), local, state and federal government, economic development, and a wide variety of service organizations across the nation.
Chris holds an International MBA from the University of Nebraska and undergraduate degrees in business and psychology. She was recognized as Doane’s Outstanding Young Alumnus in 1991, and as the 2005 Outstanding Alumnus of the Reno-Sparks Chamber of Commerce Leadership Academy.
Prior to founding Amplitude, Chris created and served as Chief Learning Officer for the Saint Mary’s Learning Institute, a service of Saint Mary’s Health Network. She has more than 20 years of Human Resources experience, including Vice President of Human Resources for Saint Mary’s Health Network and Nebraska Methodist Health System in Omaha.
Chris has been a Master Trainer with Rapport Leadership International, training their Power Communication and Customized Leadership classes over the past 10 years.
Active in community leadership, Chris currently serves as the Board Chair for the Girl Scouts of the Sierra Nevada, and as a Board Member of WIN - Northern Nevada’s Power Breakfast Networking Organization.
Chris recently spent four years as the locally acclaimed “Personal Power” expert on the local ABC News Affiliate Morning Show, providing weekly tips to take charge and “power-up” in life. She also keynotes internationally on the topics of communication, conflict resolution, and personal power.
For fun, Chris drives racecars - she has five track records in her racing class, swims with sharks, walks on hot coals and bends steel with her bare hands. She and her husband have a 22-year-old daughter.
