An Inside Look at the New Leadership Imperatives - Emotional Intelligence in the Business World

We’re being judged by a new yardstick: not just by how smart we are or by our training and expertise, but on our interpersonal skills.

-Working with Emotional Intelligence, Daniel Goleman

Session Summary: Gain insight about the scope and power of your Emotional Intelligence Quotient (EQ) as a long-term reference tool for continued professional growth, balance and success as a leader.

Leadership is more than meeting deadlines and hitting the bottom line. For continued excellence, today's leaders must also be experts in building trust, managing multiple priorities, handling change, reducing stress, and maintaining their health in order to achieve their full potential and greatest results. In this session, participants will utilize the EQ Map®, a tool designed to measure one's current level of emotional intelligence. The EQ Map® provides data on twenty EQ related scales (from resilience to creativity, emotional awareness to personal power), and includes proven ideas for improving areas that may be keeping one from achieving success. Participants will have an opportunity to “look inside” and gain self-insight and awareness of the scope and power of their EQ as a tool to success in business and personal leadership.

In this workshop, you will:

  • Understand your strengths and vulnerabilities related to Emotional Intelligence.
  • Gain knowledge which will increase your productivity and reduce stress on the job.
  • Develop an EQ-in-Action Plan preparing you to effect demonstrable and measurable change, at work and in your personal life.
  • Gain self-insight and awareness of the scope and power of your EQ as a tool to success in business and personal leadership.
